A Calling to Care: Tiffany's Path to Becoming a Vet Nurse

Animals have always held a special place in Tiffany Kobakian's heart. This passion fuelled her determination to become a veterinary nurse. Tiffany studied a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing ACM40418 and was awarded the Outstanding Food, Fibre and Animal Industries Vocational Education Student of the Year 2024.

A Childhood Dream Takes Off

For Tiffany, the love for animals started at a young age. "Ever since I was a little girl, I've always wanted to be a vet nurse," she says. This childhood dream remained a constant source of inspiration, and Tiffany's desire to pursue it only grew stronger with time.

"I wanted to do the Cert IV in Vet Nursing to start my career in vet nursing to make that 4-year-old girl proud," she states. Driven by this unwavering passion, Tiffany enrolled in the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing ACM40418 at Melbourne Polytechnic, setting the stage for her exciting new chapter.

Finding Support

While embarking on her studies, Tiffany was unsure of what to expect. However, she quickly found a supportive environment at Melbourne Polytechnic. "The teachers really helped bring everyone together and went through the course and made everyone feel very comfortable," she reflects.

Faculty members like Jane, who nominated Tiffany for the Outstanding Student of the Year award, played a key role in her learning experience. Through the combined effort of dedicated instructors and a positive learning environment, Tiffany excelled in her studies.

A Lifelong Commitment to Animal Care

Tiffany's passion for animal welfare extends beyond the classroom. At home, she cares for a diverse menagerie of pets, including a German Shepherd, a cat, two blue-tongued lizards, and a bearded dragon. Surrounded by animals, Tiffany's love for them is evident in every aspect of her life.

Looking towards the future, Tiffany is committed to continuous learning in the animal industry. "Expanding my knowledge in the animal industry is going to be what I'm going to be doing for probably the rest of my life until I can retire," she declares. This strong commitment, coupled with her passion and academic achievements, makes Tiffany a shining example for aspiring veterinary nurses.
