Carlos Lechtman is a civil and structural engineer with industry and academic experience spanning more than 30 years.
Carlos Lechtman has worked with overseas and Australian engineering consultants in a wide a range of structural designs compliant with design codes of different jurisdictions. Carlos is currently a Lecturer in the Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) program at Melbourne Polytechnic.
Carlos has delivered core units and the units of the Structural Engineering stream. Carlos is driven by a passion to pass on structural analysis and structural design knowledge and understanding to the future generations of engineers in an environment that enhances learning by promoting respect and inclusion.
In his lecturing role, Carlos has guided and supervised research projects of students from the three streams of specialisation on offer in the program, namely Structural Engineering, Transportation and Municipal Engineering, and Construction Management.
Carlos is committed to excellence in engineering education and pursues relevant professional
development activities to that end.
Carlos obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University, United
States and a Master of Science with a major in Structural Engineering from North Carolina State
University, United States.
