Sadiqul teaches in the Bachelor of Agriculture & Technology program at Melbourne Polytechnic. Sadiqul has been working at Melbourne Polytechnic since 2006.
Prior to moving to Australia, he was employed as a marine scientist and university associate professor in Bangladesh. He also worked in an environmental laboratory in Melbourne before joining Melbourne Polytechnic.
He graduated from Bangladesh Agricultural University with a Bachelor's degree in Fisheries.
He earned his M.Sc. degree in aquaculture from the same university. He also holds another
M.Sc. degree in environmental impact assessment (EIA) from the University of Wales, UK. He
has completed a PhD degree in Environmental Management from Deakin University.
Additionally, he has completed two overseas training programs, one on Seaweed Cultivation
and Utilization from the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute Qingdao, China, and one on
Aquaculture and Larval Nutrition from the State University of Ghent, Belgium, along with a
Certificate IV in Laboratory Technology from Holmesglen Institute, Melbourne, Australia.
To keep his teaching relevant and current, he maintains extensive links to industry,
community, and collaborative research. The network he has within overseas universities is
extensive. One of his strongest interests is research. He believes in simple, yet applied
research. He has published a number of innovative research articles in peer-reviewed
international professional journals, such as Aquaculture Research, Journal of Aquaculture &
Marine Biology, International Journal of Current Microbiology and Applied Sciences, Journal
of Bacteriology & Mycology International Journal of Algae, Journal of Agricultural Education
and Extension, Aquatic Ecology Health and Management, Victorian Field Naturalist,
Bangladesh Journal of Agriculture, and others.
In order to create an effective pedagogy, he believes it is important to consider the needs,
interests, and learning styles of students. The greatest strength of his professional skill is that
his professional skill is strongly blended with academic teaching experience, research,
consulting works, and customer-based industrial experience in the environment, aquatic
ecology, aquaculture, fisheries and marine biology, resulting in an unusual combination of
skills and experience. He tailors his teaching and learning to "real world" applications and
applications based on his research, work, and teaching experience. He values vocational
education. His belief in the importance of practical, hands-on experience in skill development
is unmatched. In his teaching style, he emphasizes critical thinking, independent thinking, and
scientific skepticism.
Aside from his academic career, Sadiqul is a published author of both fictional and real-life
stories. He has published several books in his native language. In 2023, he published a novel
titled "Life in Parallel," which is highly acclaimed by all types of readers. Furthermore, Sadiqul
is highly involved in the community as a member of a local Lions Club.
