Dr Sazia Parvin

Dr Sazia Parvin is the Head of Program for the Bachelor of Information Technology at Melbourne Polytechnic. She holds a PhD in Cyber Security and Data Security from Curtin University and brings over 15 years of teaching experience across prominent Australian institutions, including Curtin University, UNSW, and Deakin University.

With a strong academic and research background, Dr Parvin has dedicated more than a decade to advancing knowledge in data security and big data analytics. She has published over 85 peer-reviewed papers, secured multiple competitive research grants, and serves as Associate Editor-in-Chief for two respected international journals.  Recognised for her innovative, student-focused teaching, Dr Parvin is committed to creating inclusive and engaging learning environments while aligning curriculum with evolving industry needs. In her current role, she leads the design, delivery, and compliance of IT programs across both domestic and international campuses.

She has also spearheaded strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Australian Women in Security Network (AWSN), to strengthen graduate employability and industry engagement
