Dr Perla Guarneros-Sanchez is the Subject Coordinator of Melbourne Polytechnic’s Values, Ethics and Attitudes subject. She is a lawyer specialised in human rights with a PhD in international human rights law and migration. Perla is passionate about teaching Values, Ethics and Attitudes because she believes it to be a unique subject, in which there are no right or wrong answers as long as they are morally justified.
Dr Guarneros-Sanchez has been teaching since 2010 and joined Melbourne Polytechnic in 2019. Her approach to students focuses on inviting them to use their cultural backgrounds, expertise and previous education to approach global problems in business, guiding them from an ethical perspective based on globally accepted moral principles.
Perla completed her Bachelor of Laws in Mexico in 2006. She has a Master of International Crime and Justice by the United Nations and the University of Turin in Italy. She arrived in Australia in 2014 to study a Master of Laws, followed by a PhD at La Trobe University.
