Robin is a Melbourne-based music producer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, solo artist and educator. He has taught music production at part of Melbourne Polytechnic’s Bachelor of Songwriting and Music Production since 2017.
After having interned with USA producer Jonathan Burnside (Bernard Purdie, Melvins, Faith No More, Sleepy Jackson, Nirvana, Red House Painters), and assistant-engineering Dan Sultan's ARIA award winning second album, he started his own studio, Glamour Trowel, in 2014. He has produced music for Ella Hooper, Kate Miller Heidke, Dan Parsons, Darling James, Sophie Koh, Eves Karydas, North Arm, Wilding and The Bedroom Philosopher and others, totalling over 1 million Spotify plays.
As a musician he has played keys/guitar in Machine Translations, The Ella Hooper Band, Dan Parsons band and travelled the world as a songwriter/vocalist in 2000s Indie band The Boat People.
Highlights of his time as a lead singer, songwriter and keyboard player in The Boat People, include multiple international tours and showcases, playing live to air on KCRW, supports with Crowded House, David Byrne, The Shins, Midlake, Chad VanGaalen and Women, 3 critically acclaimed albums, 6 Triple J high rotation singles, being covered by Ball Park Music and an entry in the 'Queensland Music Walk of Fame' in Brisbane.
He also released a self-titled album of solo material titled ‘CHANNEL’ in 2021 and wrote/co-wrote for songs Megan Washington and Sophie Koh and others.
He has composed diegetic music for feature documentary Because We Have Each Other (2022), music for the Tessa Waters 2018 Comedy special (ABC TV), Niche (Elbow Room Theatre) and additional engineering for Newton's Law (ABC TV), Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (ABC TV) and the Miss Fisher feature film as well as mixing music for ABC documentary Why Did She Have to Tell the World?
He holds a Bachelor of Jazz Piano from Griffith University Queensland Conservatorium.
