Case Study: Melbourne's North Kitchen & Food Incubator

Melbourne's North Kitchen & Food Incubator initiative is a partnership between Melbourne Innovation Centre (MIC), Melbourne Polytechnic and Melbourne’s North Food Group (MNFG).

This exciting initiative caters for start-ups looking to realise their dreams of joining Melbourne’s food scene.

FoodINC offers food start-ups and hospitality entrepreneurs a dedicated space and support network for their businesses to flourish and turn their creative ideas into viable business operations. Bookings and memberships are available for the purpose-built commercial kitchen facility at Melbourne Polytechnic’s Preston campus.

Participants have access to a range of support services, including expertise from Melbourne Polytechnic’s educators across compliance and food safety, as well as a host of specialist short courses and vocational learning opportunities.

Program goers will get access to MIC’s small business training and professional development offerings, as well as engagement with MNFG’s 400+ businesses.

The establishment of the Food and Kitchen incubator has been generously seed funded by the Brunswick Business Incubator Melbourne Polytechnic and the City of Whittlesea.
