Academic Qualification Documents

Academic Qualification Documents comprise Testamurs, Australian Higher Education Graduation Statements (AHEGS), Certificates, Statements of Attainment, and Statements of Results and are available to current and former students.

Academic documents

Statement of Results

A Statement of Results lists all enrolled VET Units of Competency/Higher Education Subjects and the corresponding results by Course and Academic Year.

Statement of Attainment

A Statement of Attainment lists one or more successfully completed Units of Competency from an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) VET Qualification where the full Qualification was not completed. 

Testamur

An official certification document that confirms that a qualification has been awarded to a student.

Institute Accredited Course (IAC) Certificate

An IAC Certificate is issued to students who successfully complete a Short Course.

Verification of Academic Qualification Documents

Melbourne Polytechnic does not provide an ad-hoc verification service as this can now be accessed via the My eQuals digital platform which allows verification agencies, employers and recruitment professionals to easily receive and verify Tertiary Credential claims.

Important Notes

  • Current VET and Higher Education students can access and view their published results using the Melbourne Polytechnic Student Portal.
  • Students who have an outstanding debt with Melbourne Polytechnic will not be issued with Academic Qualification Documents until the debt is paid in full.
  • Effective January 2015, the Commonwealth Government requires all students to have a valid and verified Unique Student Identifier (USI) before Academic Qualification Documents are issued.

Issuance

Effective January 2023, Melbourne Polytechnic issues Academic Qualification Documents via My eQuals, the official tertiary credential digital platform for the higher education sector, students, and verifiers providing secure access to certified, official qualification records.

Once Melbourne Polytechnic issues your academic documents, you will receive an email from My eQuals advising that your academic document/s are ready for you to access.

Students who have a My eQuals account will be able to login and access their documents.

For those students who do not have a My eQuals account, the email contains a link for you to create an account. 

Timelines

VET Students

Academic Qualification Documents will be issued to VET students within 30 calendar days of being assessed as meeting all the requirements of the course in which they are enrolled and deemed eligible to receive their award. 

Higher Education Students

Release of Results date/s will be as published on the Higher Education Academic Calendar. Following the Verification and Approval process, Higher Education students deemed eligible to receive their award will receive a Letter of Completion and Statement of Results.

Testamurs and Australian Higher Education Graduation Statements (AHEGS) will be issued to graduands within 10 business days from the date of Conferral by the Melbourne Polytechnic Board.

VET and Higher Education Continuing and/or Non-Continuing Students

Continuing and/or non-continuing students who wish to obtain their official Statement of Results can do so by completing the Student Request Form.  The applicable Fees are noted on the How to Apply for Academic Qualification Documents page.
