Melbourne's transport will get you from A to B with ease

Getting around Melbourne is easy with public transport.  Trams, trains, and buses are integrated with MYKI, Melbourne’s flexible public transport ticketing system.

Melbourne’s is home to the world’s largest tram network with 29 routes, Australia’s second largest metro railway network with 15 different lines and a bus network with more than 300 routes.  Bike Share is a new public bike-hire system and Melbourne has a large network of bicycle paths and bicycle lanes on roads.

Melbourne Polytechnic's campuses are all located within walking distance to trams, trains and buses.

Fee-paying international students are not eligible for public transport concessions.

Airport Reception

Melbourne Airport is located approximately 25 kilometres north-west of Melbourne’s city centre.

Melbourne Polytechnic can organise for you to be met at the airport and taken to your pre-arranged accommodation.

This is a free service but must be pre-arranged with Melbourne Polytechnic at least one week prior to your arrival in Australia. To arrange for a free airport pick-up, please use an Arrival Notification form and return it to the International Office.  Confirmation is usually sent by the International Office via email.
