Parking

Student parking is available at Epping, Fairfield, Greensborough, Heidelberg and Preston. 

If you wish to park on campus you will need to:

  1. Obtain and display a current year student-parking permit on your car, available from the Library / Enrolment Centre at each campus.
  2. Pay for parking via the CellOPark Australia app (download from the App Store for iPhone or Google Play for Android devices).

OR 

Purchase an eTicket from the machine in the carpark using a credit or debit card – refer to the signage for ticket machine use.​

Parking rates apply between 7.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

  • $4.80 all day (flat rate)
  • Five hour zone ($2.80 for five hours or 0.56c per hour)

There is limited on-street parking at Collingwood and Prahran campus.

Stop the session and start a new one through the app. There are a number of parking zones, check the signage and make sure you choose the correct one. The zone numbers are displayed on the signage. Failure to park in the correct zones can lead to a parking fine. ​

If you do not have a phone with you, you can login to your online account on the CellOPark website via any computer and start your parking session.

You will need to start a new session. Remember to end your parking session before you leave so you only pay for the time you are parking. Check the parking signs to make sure you are in the correct parking area. Failure to do so may lead to a parking fine being issued.

Fines, or penalty infringement notices (sometimes referred to as PINs) are issued to vehicles parked contrary to the requirements of the car park signage.

Once your appeal is received, it will be considered and determined by Melbourne Polytechnic. The parking infringement notice is placed on hold, pending the outcome of your appeal.

All infringements issued by Melbourne Polytechnic are administered by Bartels Taylor and Associates Pty Ltd which is the only point of contact to discuss your PIN.

When the review process has been finalised you will be advised of the outcome in writing.

A parking infringement notice will only be considered for withdrawal if it was issued incorrectly or if there were extenuating circumstances.

Your vehicle registration number is recorded when you start a parking session. Parking officers use license plate recognition software to scan registration plates. Make sure either your vehicle is registered on the CellOPark App or you have entered the correct registration number at the machine.

Parking Regulations

Melbourne Polytechnic car parks are regulated by the Road Safety Act 1986 and its associated Regulations and issued under the Infringements Act (Vic) 2006.

The following conditions apply when you enter, leave or use a Melbourne Polytechnic car park. If you do not accept these conditions please leave the car park immediately.

  • Parking at Melbourne Polytechnic is undertaken strictly at the owner's risk and for Melbourne Polytechnic business only.
  • A valid Melbourne Polytechnic parking permit must be displayed at all times
  • A parking fee applies to staff, contractors (including contractor staff), lease holder (including lease holder staff), vehicles parked at Melbourne Polytechnic campuses at all times.
  • Melbourne Polytechnic is not liable to you or any other person with you for
    • Injury to you or anybody else
    • Damage to, destruction of, theft of or unauthorised delivery up of your vehicle or any other vehicle whether authorized or not;
    • Damage to, destruction of, theft of or delivery up of any property (including in or on your vehicle or any other vehicle); however caused, and you release and indemnify us from any claim which might otherwise have against us.
  • You agree to indemnify us in respect to damage to, destruction of, theft of or any other claim made against us and any expenses incurred by us as a consequence of, in relation to, or in any way arising out of your use of this Car Park.
  • Melbourne Polytechnic will not be liable to you for delivery of your vehicle to any person who did not have authority to take your vehicle.
  • All vehicles must be parked in marked bays. Contravention will attract a parking infringement (PIN). All Melbourne Polytechnic campuses have been gazetted and sign posted as per the requirements of the Road Safety Act 1986 parking regulations and its amendments.
  • Parking availability is subject to capacity and is not guaranteed at all times
  • Drivers must observe any signs at the entrance to or within Melbourne Polytechnic car parks and must comply with directions given by any Parking or Security Officer.
  • The right to park is not a condition of enrolment or employment and Melbourne Polytechnic reserves the right to deny or rescind parking provisions if circumstances require.
