The Victorian Wine Show regularly returns to the Victorian wine industry any profits that accrue from the running of the annual wine show.

They have committed to supporting Melbourne Polytechnic Bachelor of Agriculture and Technology (Viticulture and Winemaking Major) students in their study and into their careers.

A Discretionary Scholarship, providing financial support to a student to the value of $5000 for the academic year of 2024.

The money is to be used as the student sees fit, to facilitate the continuation of study within the Bachelor of Agriculture and Technology degree program.

Audience

Domestic students who have successfully completed one year (8 subjects) of the Bachelor of Agriculture and Technology (Viticulture and Winemaking Major) at Melbourne Polytechnic.

Scholarship Format / Structure

The scholarship is financial with the sponsor to announce the successful candidate at the Victorian Wine Show Presentation of Awards ceremony, scheduled for Thursday 14 November, 2024.
The scholarship recipient will be required to attend this function to accept the award and make a brief speech to the audience. Financial Payment of the scholarship will be made after presentation.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Domestic applicants who have successfully completed one year (8 subjects) of the Bachelor of Agriculture and Technology (Viticulture and Winemaking Major) at Melbourne Polytechnic
  • Applicant must provide their academic transcript to evidence completion of 8 subjects. SBATE students should request their transcript via the La Trobe Student Online. HEPIBAT domestic students should request their transcript by email to brittalderton@melbournepolytechnic.edu.au
  • Applicant must reside in Victoria
  • Applicant must demonstrate a commitment to the Victorian wine industry

Selection Criteria

Selection will be made by a scholarship selection panel.

Selection will be based on:

  1. Response to application
  2. Academic performance, enthusiasm & commitment to the course
  3. Personal attributes that will enable the recipient to be an ambassador for Melbourne Polytechnic and the degree course.
