There is always a demand for tradespeople who can make objects for domestic or commercial interiors. Mix an eye for design with contemporary and traditional woodworking techniques.

Melbourne Polytechnic offers Furniture and Cabinetmaking in both pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship courses. You’ll learn everything you need to be industry-ready, from computer-aided drawing (CAD) design skills, to safe operation of hand and power tools, to estimating and costing a job.

Melbourne Polytechnic’s construction trades facilities are the most technologically advanced in Victoria, so you’ll always graduate with the latest industry knowledge.

Once you have completed an apprenticeship, you may find work as a cabinet maker or furniture manufacturer.
