Set the foundation for children’s lifelong learning and development.

When you work in childcare, you contribute to children’s development in their early formative years. If you enjoy working with children under six, Melbourne Polytechnic’s range of Early Childhood courses offer a range of qualifications in childcare.

Our Early Childhood Education courses will teach you about infant care, supporting children’s play and learning, nutrition, cooperative behaviour, and how to identify young people at risk.

Your training will also provide you with an understanding of running a centre and supervision of staff, designing and implementing programs, coordination, and advocacy for the rights of children. We cover first aid, occupational health and safety, how to work with families from all backgrounds, and the legal and ethical frameworks of childcare.

With our fully equipped practical rooms, you’ll have real-world experience in childcare before you graduate.

Being an international student is not easy," she acknowledges, "and I've always felt welcome and that I belong here.
